I am sure that the insincerity was required. You are a straight-shooter, but definitely diplomatic when needed.

This would not bother you unless you were not so honest. The corporate world often takes us where we do not like to be but know at the time it is necessary.
Keep your values and move forward knowing you do not do this on a regular basis.
