Whaddya Think?

I'm a group thinker...I may have my mind made up before I start, but I like the group to agree with me...so I've been thinking of setting up my own little 365 day blog for 2010. You know the type, 365 days, 365 recipes...or living like Oprah...or some such nonsense. I'm just looking to focus this hobby a bit.

So here are my top 3 ideas:

  1. The Cozy Cottage: Follow a Career Woman with domestic disabilities as she attempts to create a cozy home room by room.
  2. Twelve. Read and discuss the books published by Twelve in 2010.
  3. No Boob Tube. Watch me go crazy-nuts without any television, DVR, or even hulu in 2010.

I have to be honest. As a self-proclaimed TV addict number 3 frankly scares the bejesus out of me. I think it scares Hubby too as he would have to live with me. But he did say, if I selected number 3 I would probably be surprised how much time I had on my hands and would be able to do all three blogs without breaking a sweat!

Let me know your preferences - or bring a new idea to the table - but be warned...I'll be making up my own mind.

I like #2 as long as it wouldn't be all 12 books. I like to read a non-fiction in every once in a while, but I'm picky about what type of NF.

The Kennedy book and the conversation book look great and I would read anything by Sebastian Junger.

Maybe a different theme for different days of the week? Say, book review Wednesday, home decorating Friday? Otherwise, you might get sick of it - a year is a long time! Or perhaps a new theme each month?

365 days, 365 emotions. you have to write about a different emotion and how it manifested itself in your day. no repeats allowed and more than 2/3rds have to be POSITIVE emotions.

#2 sounds interesting and very doable but #3 is the challenge and may very well lead to your completing nos. 1 and 2. It would be very interesting to give up TV for an entire year and see what it leads to. I say this because I'm not sure I could do it even though I don't watch TV. Could you go to the movies? Can't wait to see what you've picked.

I vote for #1, room by room decorating. That is, if many of your rooms need decorating. Otherwise the book review. I wouldn't wish the no TV thing on anyone. OR, you could do all three, one at a time. Say, a month of no TV and write about it. Then tackle/document a room during another month. Then a book. Wow, think of the possibilities. MIME

Are you going to BLOG everyday on these subjects or just do them? I'd be quite impressed if you blogged every single day for a year!

That said, my vote it decorating because I totally need help in that area.

(I was going to cut myself off right after because just to mess ith you...but I couldn't! LOL)

Lord why would you deny yourself something that brings you joy like the boob toob. I say if you want to evolve or grow, add something new, don't take away something. Unless you NEED to for some reason, like you are giving up smoking so you don't die.

365 days of anything is a lot. I did that blogging thing everyday in November last year and that was hard. Just fitting it into my life was hard nevermind coming up with something to write about every day. I can't even remember to change my Wild Words from Wild Women calendar every day. I am a month behind.

I like the idea of a once a week thing. Like the Grace In Small Things project that people have been participating in in the bloggy world. I would do something with you if you wanted. I read about two women who would both take pictures of something in their world on the same day each week to post on their blog for the year so they could see some part of each other's lives. Something along those lines could be fun. Once a week cooking a dish to blog about...I don't know, I would have to give it more thought...
